Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times (2023-2024, 2022-2023)

Since 1982, Camp (a program of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California) has been on the forefront of designing medically supervised programs that respond to the needs of the pediatric oncology community. Today, we are one of the world’s largest oncology camp programs, serving campers from across Southern California with fun-filled, medically supervised, cost-free camp programs. We also host the only Spanish language camps in Southern California to support our Southern California-based Latino families impacted by childhood cancer.

Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times (“Camp”) values the support of Anderson Children’s Foundation, which is making it possible for us to provide our programming to Coachella Valley youth free-of-charge. Camp helps transform the lives of cancerimpacted children like Vincent and Ruben, who met over 8 years ago at a local Ronald McDonald House and grew their friendship over many years up at Camp. In the words of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California’s CEO Fatima Djelmane Rodriguez, “RMHCSC builds community that runs deep. These two prove that. There are so many pictures and videos from our recent Walk for Kids that capture the pure magic that unfolded. These two young men, Vincent to my left and Ruben to my right, met when they were both staying at a Ronald McDonald House. Eight years later, they both still attend @campronaldmcdonald, volunteer to cook meals for families staying at the house, and have remained friends. RMHCSC builds community that runs deep!”

Camp at Home (2021-2022)

Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times (“Camp”)

Since 1982, Camp (a program of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California) has been on the forefront of designing medically supervised programs that respond to the needs of the pediatric oncology community. Today, we are one of the world’s largest oncology camp programs, serving campers from across Southern California with fun-filled, medically supervised, cost-free camp programs. We also host the only Spanish language camps in Southern California to support our Southern California based Latino families impacted by childhood cancer.

Last year, in response to the coronavirus pandemic and at the recommendation of Camp’s Medical Committee, we shifted our sessions to virtual programming in order to safely deliver our services at this time of heightened isolation. And the response has been terrific! Until it is once again safe for us to meet up at our beautiful 60-acre site in Mountain Center, Camp at Home is providing the children and families we serve with opportunities to enjoy livestream activities with their favorite counselors, staff members and one another.

Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times values the support of Anderson Children’s Foundation, which is making it possible for us to deliver “Camp in a Box” kits (filled with Camp swag and supplies for online activities!) to Coachella Valley youth so that they can enjoy the magic of Camp from the safety of their homes.

Camp might not be in-person right now, but it’s still in session, thanks to the generosity of supporters like the Anderson Children’s Foundation!

Camp for Good Times (2017-2018, 2016-2017)

For nearly thirty-five years, Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times (Camp)—a program of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California (RMHCSC) — has provided camp programs for 1,600 children with cancer and their families annually. As one of the nation’s largest recreational camping programs for children with cancer, Camp offers a respite for these special children and their families. We rely on our volunteer staff of dedicated doctors, nurses, psychologists, specially trained counselors and activity specialists to help us maintain our thirty year commitment of “no-cost” programming at Camp. We are happy to serve children from all across Southern California, including the Coachella Valley where our camp is based.
