Sexual Offenders Treatment Program (2014-2015, 2013-2014)

Most adolescent sex offenders receive little or no treatment. This lack of services to adolescents invites further victimization and increases the pool of potential victims. Our program goal is to address this issue by treating adolescents and pre-adolescent offenders. Treating offenders at an age when they have been show to be treatable can have the greatest impact on prevention for community.

The outpatient program will involve weekly individual sessions with a qualified clinician as well as weekly group sessions when the number and suitability of the clients for group sessions are appropriate. Family sessions will be integrated into the program as well, as weekly contact with probation or other agencies as need.

The key components of this twenty week outpatient treatment program are:

  • Self –esteem
  • Cognitive distortions
  • Empathy
  • Social functioning and attachment style
  • Sexual/non-sexual fantasies
  • Relapse prevention
  • Stress management
  • Sexuality

The Riverside Latino Commission has experienced and caring clinicians who have worked with teenagers for many years therefore uniquely positioned to address this problem. Our Outpatient program is the only program for adolescent sexual offenders in the Coachella Valley.
