Opera in the Schools (2024-2025, 2022-2023, 2020-2021, 2017-2018)
The Palm Springs Opera Guild's Opera in the Schools program has been enriching the educational experience of students in the Palm Springs Unified and Desert Sands Unified School Districts for over 20 years. This program brings live opera performances, interactive workshops, and masterclasses directly into schools, fostering a love for the arts among students of all grade levels. By integrating opera into the curriculum through tailored study guides, the program aligns with California Education Standards and enhances cultural awareness. The initiative also ensures inclusivity by providing all services at no cost, making opera accessible to all students, including those in under-resourced communities. Through this sustained effort, the Palm Springs Opera Guild continues to inspire and engage young minds, cultivating a deeper appreciation for the arts.
