Digital Art Program for Children Ages 13-17 (2022-2023)

The Digital Arts Program at Old Town Artisan Studios provides the opportunity for students to develop their skills in creating art in a world where technology is continuously evolving. Students will explore the fundamentals of digital art using tools and software to learn basic design elements, graphic design, 3D animation, illustration, filmmaking, and more. Digital tools allow artists the ability to push boundaries of creation and imagination. As technology is being utilized more in our everyday lives, Old Town Artisan Studios aims to empower young artists to embrace digital tools as an exciting way to learn skills needed to explore a multitude of career paths, while inspiring creativity.

Outreach Art Kit Program (2020-2021)

During the pandemic restrictions, we were providing individual art experiences, packaged in single use kits we call Art2go. We coordinated distribution through organizations already licensed to operate during the pandemic. Our main distribution centers are through our partnership with FIND Food Bank.

Of the 28 distribution sites presently operated by FIND, 10 of their locations were selected for this project. The selection was based on economic and demographic composition; families with children residing in Coachella’s East Valley. FIND serves food to thousands of families ever week, estimating 300 children at each of the 10 locations selected.

We have also received request from other non-profit organizations, many who we currently partner with for our outreach programs; all serving Coachella Valley families in need. YMCA is providing day care for the children of our first responders and essential health care workers. YMCA has requested 30 kits per week. Coachella Valley Rescue Mission has requested kits for the children currently living in their family dormitories. They have requested 68 kits per week.

Mobile Art Program (2019-2020)

The Old Town Artisan Studios was established in 2009 to provide positive art experiences for all people despite age, disability, or financial condition. We believe art is healing and has an everlasting positive impact on each of us and the world around us.

We are a nonprofit organization that provides a warm and inviting place where people of all ages can reveal their creativity. We offer instruction and classes in clay, fused glass, painting, drawing, and other forms of art. Independent studio use, along with individual private instruction and classes for children, adults, and seniors, are all blended with fee exempt instruction offered to numerous charities serving communities in our desert valley. In 2018 we achieved over 21,000 art experiences in the Coachella Valley.

Our Anderson Children’s Foundation grant is target at the more remote areas of the Coachella Valley that work with children. This grant will allow us to expand our Mobile Art Program on a more consistent bases in these harder to reach locations. This year long program will serve organizations like the YMCA and the Boys & Girls Clubs and many more. Children will experience a wide range of art projects which will include, ceramics, sculpture, fused glass, painting and more!
