Mountain Vista Elementary School

The objective of our project is to provide students with enriching, engaging, and interactive assemblies as well as opportunities to attend the PBIS store. Both of these experiences will keep them excited about attending school throughout the entire academic year. In the past, when our budget allowed, providing similar opportunities for our students led to an increase in our attendance because our students look forward to coming to school when they know there is an exciting event or that our PBIS store is open. Not only do we see increase in attendance when we have exciting events and our PBIS store, but when students know these events are coming up, they work even harder to contribute to our positive school climate.

Bringing the Arts to Mountain Vista Elementary will provide opportunities for students to participate in various activities, assemblies and classes with a focus on Visual and Performing Arts. Students will attend assemblies with a focus on Literature, Dance and Art. Students will also be provided opportunities to participate in various dance classes and prepare performances for parents and community members throughout the year. The funds would be used to pay for various assemblies throughout the year so students can experience live theater and Performing Arts. Funds will also be used to purchase dance costumes for Ballet Folklorico, Hula and Ballroom. In addition, the funds will be used to purchase materials and supplies for various art projects throughout the year.

With the support of ACF, over 800 students will be provided with experiences and opportunities to discover the Performing Arts.

Our plans are to continue to provide opportunities for students to participate in Dance and Art classes. They will use their experiences to create various projects and performances. Students will have the opportunity to learn in various styles and discover hidden talents.
