Aleph Schoolhouse (2023-2024, 2021-2022, 2020-2021, 2018-2019, 2017-2018)

Aleph Schoolhouse is a small Jewish day school that provides an enriching, educational environment for all children, regardless of background or affiliation. At Aleph Schoolhouse, our students thrive both socially and academically in a warm and nurturing setting. We take great pride in our dynamic staff who implement a multilingual Judaic and secular curriculum, and plant the seeds for life-long learning. Our goal at Aleph Schoolhouse is to foster happy, confident, successful children who will ultimately thrive in any environment.

Holocaust Remembrance Initiative (2020-2021, 2019-2020, 2018-2019)

The Sunshine Circle Holocaust Remembrance Initiative is a social and educational program that brings Holocaust Survivors to local schools to share their stories. The impact of this experience is powerful and serves as a necessary tool to educate students about history and the evils of racism, bigotry and bullying, while addressing the urgent need to educate teens about the Holocaust while they are still able to hear testimony from Holocaust Survivors. . Sunshine Circle HRI also provides students with unique volunteering opportunities such as preparing home cooked meals for homebound seniors and assisting them with chores and errands. The experience inspires students to cherish volunteering, take active leadership positions, and identify their unique impact on the community around them.

Hebrew High (2017-2018)

Hebrew High is a project of Sunshine Circle that provides the opportunity for teenage students to earn up to 10 foreign language credits (UC accredited) while receiving a meaningful Jewish education. In addition to classes on Hebrew language, Israeli history and culture, our students will have the opportunity to meet and interact with local Holocaust Survivors and seniors and engage in various volunteering efforts on a weekly basis.

Hebrew High is a product of Sunshine Circle's Teen Holocaust Remembrance Initiative which, since 2010, has paired over 200 local teens with 50 Holocaust Survivors for one-on-one home visits, lectures and meetings. Hebrew High will continue to educate and mentor teens to be socially active and responsible citizens while incorporating an exciting Hebrew Literacy program.
