Shoes for Students (2024-2025)
Helping us make progress and move forward, shoes are basic, ordinary and regular item of wear in our everyday life. As normal to the average person a pair of shoes may seem, for a student in need of new functional shoes, this item holds much more worth than we would attribute it. Many students and their families at Palm Springs Unified School District (PSUSD) struggle to make ends meet, making it difficult for regular restocking of essentials such as shoes. At PSUSD, 98 percent of our students fall under the federal poverty line. Of those students, 2,500 are identified as homeless or living in transition (in crowded homes of multiple families, in shelters, in their car, etc.). With the support of the Anderson Children’s Foundation, we are ensuring the purchase and distribution of 2,500 pairs of shoes for our students in need. Continuing your organization’s work in providing for unmet needs of children of every race, culture, and creed, we look to provide new pairs of shoes to students in need identified by our Department of Student Services. With your support we will ensure students are comfortable inside and outside the classroom.
