HERE We Grow Again! (2022-2023)

FCA Soccer Club’s goal is to bring high-quality club soccer to the East Valley at an affordable price. As such, at-risk Coachella Valley youth are granted the opportunity to compete in Club Soccer, which is commonly only available to children and families who can financially support the costs associated with Club sports. We positively influence children 8-10 hours per week, beginning the week with our Board and staff members hosting a (non-mandatory) staff/player/parent bible study, then play some soccer. FCA Soccer Club coaches also hold practice twice a week at the direction of FCA’s Director, Manuel “Pato” Hurtado. Coach Hurtado is contemporaneously employed as College of the Desert’s Men’s Head Soccer Coach and was named the 2021 IEAC Men’s Soccer Coach of the Year. As FCA Soccer Club’s Director, Coach Hurtado evolves the players into competitive soccer players, knowledgeable and skilled, engaging in weekly games and tournaments throughout the season.

Funding provided through the Anderson Children’s Foundation will support the program’s expansion, thereby providing an additional 75 youth the opportunity to play and compete in Club Soccer.

Soccer Club Scholarships (2021-2022)

The FCA soccer club is dedicated to serving the Coachella Valley by offering Christ based life skills coupled with high-quality soccer training with the goal of shaping future soccer stars, future members of society, future family leaders, and followers of Christ. Through donations and grants, we provide the opportunity to play high-level competitive soccer to student athletes who do not have access. We also create a Christ-centered, character-building environment for students to come and feel safe, have fun, and grow closer to Jesus. With the help of the Anderson Children’s Foundation, we will be able to supplement player fees and uniform costs for most of our players in order to keep costs low for their families.

Soccer Club (2019-2020)

FCA Soccer Club was established in 2018 to serve the east side of Coachella Valley: Indio, Coachella, Thermal, Mecca, North Shore, and Salton Sea, etc. We are part of Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). Our goal is to bring high quality club soccer to the East Valley at an affordable price and help foster a relationship with Jesus Christ. The east valley has a great number of talented athletes that cannot afford to play at the highest levels due to their family's financial situation. Through fundraising, donations, and tight budgeting, we are able to provide part or full scholarship to the majority of our players.

We focus on fostering positive characteristics that result in high character, integrity, a servant mentality, and a team player. With this model, we believe it will not only transform the players lives, but their families and community as well.

Currently, we have approximately 100 players ranging from 10-18 years old that participate on a weekly basis. We have six soccer teams, five play in Southern California Coast Soccer League and one plays in the Coachella Soccer League.

Our goal is to build our program up to 10-12 teams in the East Valley, approximately 190-200 players. This goal would require up to 12 coaches, a goalie trainer, a facility for strength training, and a resource center that would provide for a place to do homework and get tutoring when needed. We envision ourselves providing sessions on healthy eating, healthy living, weekly bible study, as well as providing assistance to players as they prepare for high school and college. We want our players to learn the importance of giving back to their communities. We would do this by offering free soccer clinics and serving at various other projects throughout the community. Our ultimate goal is to continue to develop great students (high school and college) and great future professionals, husbands, wives, parents, and future leaders of their communities.
