CVRM's Family House is twelve years old. The six bathrooms each need repair. These six bathrooms have housed over 180 women and their children in the last six months. This project will provide new toilets and countertops for each of the six bathrooms. The vanities were initially custom-made, making off-the-counter vanities unavailable to purchase. CVRM will work with Arizona Tile to buy and JC Tile to fabricate the countertops for each bathroom. Under the bed, storage units will complete project.

Women's & Family House Dining Area Reimagine Project (2021-2022)

The Coachella Valley Rescue Mission shelters 300 individuals and provides a bed, shower, clothing, case management to 150 overnight guests and another 150 in our short to long-term Gateway and New Life Programs, which are three to nine-month programs.

The CVRM Family Shelter is a safe shelter for 15 women and 30 children in crisis. CVRM is open 24 hours a day, so there is always a bed in an emergency, no matter the time of day or night, for a mother and her children. CVRM provides a safe place to rest and a nurturing environment to recover.

The women and children each have a case manager to assist them with behavioral and physical health issues, referrals to agencies, housing, daycare, and job searches. The Anderson Children's Foundations grant will provide a banquette and table to allow more children, along with their mothers, an opportunity to dine together. Research shows that some of the benefits of family dinners are: better academic performance, higher self-esteem, lower risk of substance abuse, lower risk of depression, lower likelihood of developing eating disorders, lower rates of obesity.”
