Summer Activities, Lifeguard, Instructors (2013-2014)
The City of Coachella is committed to helping at-risk and underserved youth choose healthy activities over gang-related behavior. During the summer, the City of Coachella will host three one-week sessions of Summer Day Camp, funded almost entirely by scholarship money and open to all income qualifying families. In addition, over 2,000 low-income kids will receive free passes for open swimming at Bagdouma Pool. By spending their summer in camp and at the pool, these children will stay fit and avoid negative activities on the streets. After a summer of constructive fun, they’ll return to school healthy and ready to learn.
