Stan and Bobbie Gold RiteCare Childhood Language Center (2022-2023, 2021-2022, 2020-2021, 2019-2020)

Since 2004, the Stan and Bobbie Gold RiteCare Childhood Language Center of Coachella Valley has provided free, life-changing speech, language, and literacy treatment of childhood language disorders to children to improve their speaking, reading, writing and communication capabilities.

Whether to say “I’m hungry,” or to share hopes and dreams, communicating is among our most basic human need. When a child is unable to effectively communicate, it impacts every aspect of their cognitive and socio-emotional development. Language delays and disorders often interfere with a child’s ability to understand and follow rules or directions at home and at school; their ability to socialize, engage in group play activities, and form friendships; and often negatively impacts the acquisition of literacy skills limiting their academic progress. This unfortunately leads to frustration and isolation which quickly erode self-esteem and self-confidence. Left untreated, language disorders can result in long-term damage to a child’s overall development.

Our services are designed to address these childhood disorders and are provided by licensed speech-language pathologists to children ranging from 3 to 18 years of age either in a one-on-one setting at our Palm Desert Language Center or via tele-therapy during social distancing requirements. Children are typically seen once a week for 50-minute sessions for up to two years.

The Gold RiteCare Childhood Language Center is a program of the California Scottish Rite Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and is totally reliant on philanthropy from individuals, foundations and corporate partners. We do not receive any state or federal funding. All programs and services are provided free of charge to the children we serve.
